I have to admit that I am a sucker for a good marketing when it comes to fitness products. My wife follows lots of fitness influencers on Instagram, and I noticed a lot of them are using products like Sweet Sweat vs TC1 waist belts. These products are designed to be worn around your waist during a workout, and cause you to lose weight through heavy sweating. I decided to give these products a try and see if either improved my workout, or if they were just another marketing gimmick.
Sweet Sweat vs TC1 Waist Belt: The Difference
The Sweet Sweat and TC1 Waist Belt basically do the same thing, and they’re priced accordingly.
Price: $27.95

Price: $24.95

There are a few key differences that you should be aware of when choosing between Sweet Sweat & TC1 Waist Belt. The Sweet Sweat comes in five different sizes, whereas the TC1 Waist Belt is a one-size-fits-all. When you put each of these on, the feel is a âsame-but-differentâ kind of feel. The TC1 Waist Belt has a bit more of a latex-feel, whereas the Sweet Sweat feels more like a workout belt.
The Good
These things are no joke when it comes to making you sweat. I found the Sweet Sweat Waist Trimmer to be slightly more effective when it came to pulling the water out of my midsection, but the TC1 Waist Belt was not far behind. They work pretty much the same way — you wear them under your clothes and around your waist. The belts work by increasing your core body temperature during exercise, which in turn forces you to sweat more than you normally do. I tried each of these on outdoor runs during the summer heat, and I was surprised that I didn not feel any more fatigued than I normally do. When I took off the waist belts, I was shocked at how much sweat they collected.
The Bad
While the Sweat Sweat & TC1 Waist Belt were pretty noticeable during my run, I did a few at home workouts (P90X3 or Insanity Max 30) and have to admit that both of them made some of the movements a little uncomfortable. Between the two, the TC1 Waist Belt rode up a little more than the Sweet Sweat. While doing my research, it does seem like the Sweet Sweat does lose a little bit of tack after time, and you might have to readjust from time to time. I should mention that this was not my experience.
Sweet Sweat vs TC1 Waist Belt: The Verdict
If you want to drop a few pounds quick, or boost your workouts at the expense of a little comfort, both the Sweet Sweat & TC1 Waist Belt are great options. Personally, I prefer the Sweet Sweat because it stayed put a little better on me while doing my at home workouts, but the difference is very small. The best part about these products is that the low price makes them both a pretty easy pill to swallow, and if you don’t like it, you can always justify an inexpensive test run that will, if nothing else, make you sweat like crazy!
